Is BioWare Working On Mercs Inc? How About Command & Conquer?

Is BioWare Working On Mercs Inc? How About Command & Conquer?

"Is this rumor true?" I don't know yet. But perhaps the Bioware will take hold of the franchise instead of crappy EA. As we all know that EA killed the Command and Conquer series since they bought the Westwood for $3.4 million claiming the rights and credits of creating the C&C series.

I doubt the Bioware can have a permission to create the next C&C game since the rights of it is on the hands of EA. However, the Bioware studios is under the EA company, so they may have the chance to create the game and improve it. But there are the chance that the EA would ride on their success and rake some money like they did on some games under them.

It is also stated by Mr. Nirolak on twitter that the Next C&C will be shooter, it is unconfirmed whether it's FPS or third person.

"Basically: mysterious BioWare game probably is a shooter developed at EALA previously known as Mercs Inc."

I just hope that this Command and Conquer is not a crap like the previous creation of EA-- so called C&C 4. Hell, if this is the revival of the greatness of C&C franchise, I would buy it. But for now, I would stick to C&C 3: Kane's Wrath.

Headlines: Wife tried to sell the husband on Craiglist the reason of MW3 addiction

Wow this is stupid, A woman in Utah tried "sell" her husband on Craiglist because of the husband being hooked up on Modern Warfare 3.

According to the report of "The Salt Lake Tribute":

"Alyse Bradley became fed up with her husband's excessive gaming habits after he returned home from serving in the U.S. military in Afghanistan."
In my opinion, this the retarded thing to do to your husband even he is glued on the controller. Honestly, this is a stupidest joke ever.

Release of Assassin's creed: Revelations

Time to celebrate guys! today is the release of ACR. By judging the look of it, it's epic. So it is available on game stores now and it is only $59.99 by pre-order. In Philippines, 1,4k for PC and 2,1-2,4k for PS3 in Datablitz and local gaming stores.

Too bad I don't have the game yet. Damn! I'll wait for Christmas to play it.

Want to see the review also? The review is for PS3 only from IGN.

Prices on some games

I recently read the post of Mr. Paul T of Game-Modo about the prices of some videogames. As I read his post, I immediately noticed that the prices are reasonable but it is only applied on UK areas only.

But I rather choose the steam version than retail. ;)

Why some FPS sucks now.

It is sad news folks. As the generation of FPS progresses, the quality decline and now you have a run of the mill "First Person Shooters". Good example of this is Call of Duty: MW franchise; swarming of enemies, ridiculous health regeneration, no tactics and auto respawn of tangos are so absurd. I also forget to mention that the AI are some dumbasses waiting to be shot-- I mean it, they are easy to kill. The only way to defeat the player is to swarm or spam them with more respawning troop which kills you within 2 mins making the regeneration meaningless.

Another good example is the yearly release of clones of "Counter-Strike" in the Philippines. I played some of them, but mostly have sub-par gameplay and graphic. But you won't believe it, the games are successful on the eyes of Filipinos and everybody plays them!

I wish some of developers would carry the legacy of FPS instead of making it as a cash cow. Oh well, time to play Quake 1 again.

Wait for tommorow!

Tomorrow--11/15/11 is the release of Assassin's creed: Revelations on North America. We are very excited to play for this very anticipated game, as we play Ezio the bad-ass looking renaissance warrior who left Italy behind then he heads to Constantinople to hunt down the Templars, stops their plans of world domination and find the artifact of Altair.

Judging by the video, the multiplayer looks impressive, it looks like a Renaissance version of Ghost Recon. There are variety of MP modes like "hunt down and kill then evade" with customization of characters and clan modes.

EA bans BF3 cheaters

From botchweed gaming news:
"EA announced yesterday via its Battlefield 3 Twitter account, that they have successfully caught and banned “hundreds of offending accounts” and have also wiped many of those accounts which have been caught “boosting”. Boosting basically involves using an exploit in the game to artificially level up your account instead of doing it through genuine gameplay.
Boosting was present throughout the BF3 beta, although obviously with it being a beta was not of great concern. Unfortunately the same exploit was found with the current retail version of the game allowing users to gain tens of thousands of points during a single match.
EA have said that they will continue to monitor account activity and actively ban those who are found to be breaching the game’s terms of service."

Ho ho! It seems EA removing some damn hackers. But sadly, their method is not effective at eradicating every hacker in BF3. It seems that they found a loophole for their hacking tools!

Rumor! Another COD on 2012

Jesus! Why they can't take a break for creating a another COD. It looks like they will going to mess the COD franchise like what they did to Guitar Hero.

IMHO, they should stop making another COD game. They must focus first on MW3, instead of making another "recycled" series. This way, they will make the customers happy and they can earn money.

BTW, I don't believe in their "get rich quickly" method. "Get rich quickly" method means: make more + crappy game + alienate your customer base + angering the customers=  zero profits.

Steam Database hacked!

What the hell happened? Apparently, someone is trying to attack the steam database just like the PSN incident.

Valve's official statement:

Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users,
Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums.
We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked. We are still investigating.
We don't have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.
While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login. If you have used your Steam forum password on other accounts you should change those passwords as well.
We do not know of any compromised Steam accounts, so we are not planning to force a change of Steam account passwords (which are separate from forum passwords). However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to change that as well, especially if it is the same as your Steam forum account password.
We will reopen the forums as soon as we can.
I am truly sorry this happened, and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Gabe.

Another MW3 related crime

Good morning my dear readers! I have just found this another stupid story of MW3 related crime. Most of you, have already heard the truck heist in France and terror threat of 31-year-old man at Best Buy store.
However, the story I'm going to post is almost got the man killed and luckily, no one is hurt.

In Kansas City, a 24-year-old man goes to Gamestop at midnight to get his pre-ordered MW3. There is no threats or whatever during transaction, when he arrived at home, someone was tailing him. An armed man demanded his MW3 copy.

But the gamer refused, then the fight ensued. The armed man pulled out a gun and shots fired. But luckily, no one is hurt. Now the police is apprehended the robber when he returned to the same Gamestop. The court charged the robber, David Morales, 15 years in prison for armed robbery and attempted murder and $50,000 bond.

PC version of Batman: Arkham City release date confirmed

Finally! This is what I've been waiting for-- the actual release of Batman: Arkham City for PC.

"After weeks of speculation and a couple of false starts, Warner Bros. Interactive finally sets a solid date for the PC edition of ‘Batman: Arkham City."
Warner Bros stated that the release date of PC version Batman: Arkham City is November, 22. 2011 in North America and November, 25 in Europe. But the bad news is that the release date in Asia is not yet announced. I hope that they will release it here someday.

About the DLC there no word yet on it, as stated by this article.

"There has yet to be any word on when Arkham City’s many DLC packs (Joker’s Carnival,Nightwing, etc) will see release on the PC, nor any news of when the OnLive version of the game will see release (though we expect it will launch alongside the PC game). Nevertheless, PC gamers have a lot be excited about. Batman’s latest adventure is one of the best-reviewed games so far this year (you have read Game Rant’s Batman: Arkham City review, right?), and has already snagged a Game of the Year nomination from Spike TV’s VideoGame Awards."

Interview with MW3 composer

While waiting for school, here is the interview with the MW3 composer: Bryan Tyler by G4TV.

Trailer gameplay of Rainbow six: Patriots

A lot of "fans of Tom Clancy games" (I'm one of them) have been expecting the latest installment, so Ubisoft released the sneak preview of Rainbow Six: Patriots.

By judging the video, it looks like a clone of Heavy Rain with tactical action of previous R6 games and Ghost Recon. I hope they don't mess this up.

The footage does confirm few familiar basic gameplay:

  • First-person gameplay with certain moments and cover done in third-person.
  • Full tactical display with squad control options and enemy tagging.
  • Tech not dissimilar to Ghost Recon.
  • Multiple perspectives/characters mid-mission
  • Lively environments with NPC civilians.

Rainbow Six: Patriots confirmed by Ubisoft

Ubisoft unveiling the next installment of Rainbow Six franchise, validating rumors back to May this year.

The plot is basically like a conspiracy theory:

"In Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots, Team Rainbow faces a new and very real threat called the “True Patriots,” a highly-trained, well-organized revolutionary group that claim the American government is irrevocably corrupted by greedy politicians and corporate special interests.  The True Patriots will do whatever it takes to reclaim their country.  Playing as Team Rainbow, players will face critical scenarios that will require them to make tough ethical decisions in order to stop this new breed of terrorists."
The Rainbow will include Co-op gameplay and multiplayer like the previous games but the single-player is not yet announced. Patriots encourages and rewards for team-oriented and tactical gameplay through new features.

More rumors of GTA 5 leaked by a Rogue Games journo

"A poster claiming to be a game journalist for a "PlayStation Magazine in UK" (presumably PSM3) has professed, on the GTA forums, to having privileged information about the game. He says that magazine staff experienced 30 minutes of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 at the developer's Scotland office."

It seems that there is another rumor about the features of GTA 5, then lets hope it will come true.

GTA 5 trailer

Sorry for the late update, just got slept on my computer. But anyway, as I watched the video, my guess is right, the story took place in San Andreas in 2012. The game is nearly realistic and back on the original GTA: SA. But I wonder, where the hell is the Hispanic protagonist!

GTA 5 details leaked!

I recently stumbled upon this article, by reading this, I would like to point out my favorite ten possible features of GTA 5

1. Hispanic protagonist

2. Return to Los Santos

3. San Andreas in 2012

4. Car Modding is back!

5. Cover system is improved

6. Military return to five star level

7. More girlfriends (more chicks!!!)

8. Parachuting

9. fun cheats returned!

10. Multiplayer is back. They included "Dedicated servers!"

30 minutes to go...

It's the moment I've been waiting for: the trailer of GTA 5. So we'll wait for 30 minutes before the GTA 5 trailer be public.
