Nintendo will be hosting the press conference at... L.A car show. One thing rings on my mind, Mario Kart.

Since Nintendo don't have any announcement at this time about this, so I'm pretty sure that Nintendo is going to partner up with big car companies to manufacture a real life Mario Kart.

Unsatisfying flash maker

I wanted to download a flash maker to make my dream game. So I spend countless hours  finding a software called "Adobe Flash Professional CS4" with little unsatisfying results. Then I visited their website to download the latest "Flash CS5", after downloading the software and installed it then "WTF! it is not compatible with my OS because the CS5 is 64 bit". Oh well, I'll try to download the "CS4" on torrent which I will wait for very long time!

It seems that the Adobe is being inconsiderate to its customers; their service is a crap, its products are hard to download, numerous requirements and etc.

There will be GTA 5

Can't wait to watch the trailer so I'll keep my fingers crossed on this one.

Benefits of Video Games

Many parents, even people from the world of academics scorned the use of the video games. They believed that the video games can make you stupid like a rock. They also said that playing video games makes a kid violent, aggressive, socially inept, irresponsible and a dumbass. Since the "video game dilemma" has been started by our politicians, media men, parents and teachers. A number of so-called research funded by the government and universities appeared in the public eyes. Interestingly, the results vary; some are inconsistent, some are plain stupid, few are actually factual.


I firmly believed that video games are great teaching tool for teens and kids. I also remember that Robert Kiyosaki once said that person learn more while having fun. But these people don't see the fact that video games can be educational and entertaining at the same time.


These are five benefits that the video game can offer:


1. Problem Solving 

         

Good example of this are RTS and MMORPG. Real Time Strategy focuses on micromanagement of resources and troops which requires simple mathematical problem solving and a better mouse. On the other hand, MMORPG has the same concept of RTS but with a little difference.In MMORPG, you should know how to utilize business mathematics to thrive and prosper in the in-game economy. MMORPG requires you to focus on your character stats which requires basic statistics. 

2. Hand Eye Coordination

This will be only applied on Console based FPS. Spending a lot of time on those controllers can improve your Hand Eye Coordination which is very handy on sports.

3. Grammar and Figures of speech

For every game I play, I learn new words usually in English. I also learn some idioms and figures of speech in game.  

4. Stress Reliever

It can really relieve stress on everyday life which prevents other mental disorders. Also it can help anyone who are ill and injured by total immersion in a game can make the patients mind off their pain.

5. Leadership and Social Skills

Playing a video game online with a clan can bolster your social skills by communicating with other players. If playing with a team and acting as a team leader as directing your clan it can help build up your leadership skills which is very useful for sports, business and jobs.

Best mobile games of October

There are the best mobile games this week of October. While some are cheap, few only a trial version which is also be paid to play the full levels like "Katamari Amor". But there is only one game which is really free called "Psychonauts". These games are so cheap which you can keep you entertained while on the road.

I'm sick of DOTA

"Every time I go to school, then I  hear DOTA! When I'm in the train, DOTA! When riding on the jeep (Philippine Jeepney), DOTA!"

Arghh, I'm sick and tired hearing the word DOTA everyday! I wonder why my fellow Filipino gamers (should I call them gamers?) can't play other games like COD:MW or Halo? When I introduce a topic about newer games into the discussion, they gave me blank stare. I wonder if they touched a console or really played other games.

I don't really hate DOTA which is great game but not perfect. I really hate the players who were very addicted to it.

I've just stumbled on this site called Let's Go Gamers. Not only a a website but also a clan, which has a very restrictive registration form. I think they made it harder for the new users to register because of  "should be hardcore" to be able to join.


So anyway, I made up my mind about the l33tism crap. Anyone can join, unless invited. So please post your email address so I can give an invitation. Rising prices of any latest games made me think twice about buying 2 or more games. Currently in the Philippines, the standard price of a genuine PC or Console game is between PHP 2000 or 4000 (not including the pirated) is unbelievably expensive for us gamers. Simcity nostalgia

Just installed and played "SimCity 3000" this morning. I love to play it again which brings back good memories when I was eight. Building utility or public buildings, zoning, god mode, taxes and triggering disasters are the classics.

But unfortunately, the current "SimCity" is messed by the another company called  "Tilted Mill Entertainment" by removing the core gameplay of the previous "SimCity".

I somehow watched the game on youtube clips then I realized that this game was better than the original. But no offense "old DOTA lovers", this new game will bury the old DOTA. No more updates crap, New graphics and Best gameplay. But on the downside, it is still a beta and it's only available on tournament players and beta testers.

Greed and Corruption exists in our lifetime. Be it in government, gaming industry or in school, it will forever exists because we are prone to temptation and sin. But anyway, the CEOs of some gaming companies have been conning us out of our money when we buy their games. They don't care about gaming. Hell, they don't even play videogames at all!

Sony PSN HACKED!

Sony is hacked by the hackers. We don't know their intentions yet. But the news say that, they do it for enjoyment of cybercrime. A group called "Anonymous" are the perps who hacked the PSN. But the extent of damage done by these hackers were pretty serious. The authorities are trying to investigate the hacking incident and trying to track down the perps. I think sony have some involvement in this case because of their cover up of damage. I've read the articles and done some research to support these.

I don't know this fully since this is just a sneak peak to the game itself. But based on my research and official trialer, the AC: Revelations will be better than the previous games. You will play as Altair and Ezio, which means you'll be playing with two characters in one game. The game will be set on Turkey and Masayaf- the seat of assassin's order. The plot is all about the Altair, as the video trailer presents it. But I tell you folks, I'll keep my fingers crossed at until its release date.

Noobs vs. Pros

"Average-joe wannabe" gamers/Noobs vs. Pro gamers/the experienced surfaces again. I clearly remember the "internet cafe players" playing dota, shouting shit at each other, bragging about their kills. I also remember that while playing Warrock (pc based fps), I saw the enemy shooting at me at 50 yards while sniping some enemy trying to capture our base. Fortunately, I tagged him first before he get near to me. Then I was saying to myself "What is this guy doing!" then I said "Man, this guy need to learn". Ok, I'm not antagonizing the averages and newbies. But there are a times they are acting like a "noob", cursing the better players and taking the game seriously.

I wish these people must practice and take advice from the veterans to be a better players. Unfortunately, there are some players that shouldn't even be called the elite or GM. Calling them selves pro and disguises themselves that they're good but they aren't. I reality they are still a newbie that got lucky or I would say cheated. I met a lot of people like I'm describing right now. I'm surprised that they've fooled many people believing they are the experts.

The reasons I write this blog is because I was disturbed by the fact that there are more wannabes everyday and having their asses kicked. In fact, 8 out of 10 gamers are wannabes or stereotypes based on my experience on my lifetime. I deeply concerned about those players that are claiming they are the best that they are "pwned" by the experienced gamers and then they are revealed to be a fake a-holes. A sad story isn't it?

My advice to these players is to learn and make mistakes. Death count don't count and that's the life. Mistakes makes you a pro or elite. I don't recommend bragging at all. Then maybe, the noob will be "the pro of the future". Who knows. But this time pro gamers win.
